My Asset preview window is not showing the base color textures for any materials when I view in Lit mode, and the ground plane is showing up as black. When I view in Unlit mode, the base color textures are visible. Can you please let me know if I am missing something? Thank you.
Hey there @btilc9! Welcome back to the community! It looks like the lighting in the window is too dark or is being destroyed by exposure! So first let’s check and see if the lighting just needs to be moved. Hold L and left click inside the preview menu to move the light around, any changes?
If not, then the next move is to turn off auto exposure and adjust manually to see if that’s the case. Oddly enough it looks like the HDR image in the background isn’t there in yours? This could also be part of the issue.
@SupportiveEntity Thank you for your quick and friendly response!
I’ve rotated the light around using L and left click (I see the light direction arrow show up and rotate around), but the lighting does not shift at all on the asset.
I’ve shut off auto exposure, and slide the exposure down, but the asset still does not show any base color:
I’ve also edited the profile for my Asset Viewer to use the default HDRI Epic Courtyard Daylight, but it does not add any color either.
Are there other settings I should check, or any folders in my project structure that I should delete? Thanks again.
