I threw this scene together rather quickly based on a painting I saw (by Lee Madgwick). The barn is modeled super dirty and rough in Blender and all materials use Quixel Megascan textures. I relied heavily on their other 3D assets as well to quickly establish the mood I was going for.

I always wanted to make this scene a bit unsettling and add some sort of contrast to it. So while I was thinking about how to give this a little cool twist, I watched the latest season of Stranger Things and also First Kill.

I really liked the creepy mood the OST of First Kill could create and combined with the interesting camera roll effects of Stranger Things, I thought I could create a really nice and thick mood while also relying heavily on drastic dynamic lighting changes to make such a setup work.

Also, I wanted to challenge myself and make it a rather cinematic experience completely done in engine, which was exciting as I have never used sequencer as well as audio in Unreal before

Well…I guess here we are now and as above, so below!

Enjoy

Such nice work, great atmosphere and camerawork… and the mixing of lighting styles is technically brilliant
