As a sound designer & musician, where should I begin with Unreal Engine?

If you want to use UE as your main synthesis engine, then you could be barking up the wrong tree. Although it has a good audio engine, it’s not designed as a synth and it would be like pulling teeth compared to a traditional sampler.

On the other hand, if you want to work sounds and audio into a game environment is a very organic and ‘active’ way, then I’d recommend looking at Metasounds
