ArthurZak - Ancient Clock

This is a timepiece that carries strong Mayan and Aztec influences, blending myth with material.

The body of the clock is sculpted to resemble unbaked clay, giving it an ancient, handcrafted essence -like something unearthed from a temple ruin. Its dial showcases a golden ouroboros, the serpent devouring its own tail, representing Kukulkan, the feathered serpent deity revered in both Mayan and Aztec traditions. The serpent coils around weathered blue stone, forming a sacred circle of time.

The clock’s hands are forged from copper and representing two swords, and over time, they’ve developed a subtle oxidised patina, hinting at forgotten years. The structure stands atop a layered pedestal, echoing Mesoamerican architecture with its stepped design.

Turn it around, and the piece reveals a hidden guardian: a skull with a single watchful eye, carved like a relic. This mysterious motif evokes ancestral spirits or a forgotten god peering from beyond the veil of time—a striking and enigmatic touch that deepens the clock’s mythic feel.
