ArtHouse with Quark in a week

Hello Unreal Community! I want to share with you interesting experice that we had with colleague and friend.
We’re working on games with Quark Multiplayer networking technology, but all are quite big (like our MMO, Edge of Chaos), developed by 15+ members teams and no one of them released yet. We asked ourselves: is it possible to make game on Unreal Engine 5 with Quark in a week? Surely it shouldn’t be a AAA-quality high-polished RPG with 732 ending, but how about communication and exploring Journey inspired game?

I’ve got more than 11 years in industry, but never did such experiments. So we just spent our evenings and weekend to make and released a game called Connectivity. We proved that UE5 is great for fast development and Quark Multiplayer is easy to setup without company support.

Also we wrote a small article about development from sudden idea to launch. Thanks for attention

p.s.: thanks to asset developers of: Realistic VFX Niagara Pack, Realistic Desert Pack, Neon Sign Generator, Flowers and Plants Nature Pack | Fab.

Hi there @Theliraan,

Welcome to the Unreal Engine forums. So nice to see a new face around here

This was such a satisfying project to watch. Even if “simple” the challenge of creating a game within a week is always impressive. Do you all plan on creating more small scale projects like this?

Thank you  !

Probably yes, because such kind of experience extend knowledge and responsibility. It’s totally different workflow and than work on big projects. But hope next release will be big again.

I sure that my friend and colleague @D_Ash has lot of great ideas. He was initiator of this project and made huge part there. I would never have started project like that without his inner spark.

This could make a great social HDR game… the OLED community would love it

Oh, thx, man. Wouldn’t have done it without you. Definitely it wouldn’t feel so pleasant to be in & likely would just be abandoned half-way, not polished to the level it is now & not out already. So really. Thank you.

And yeah, we’ll def build some more! But also → have some medium-crazy plans for this one’s future too.

Oh it’s awesome that you’re all here! I hope to see more of ya’lls work around here  Especially the “unpolished” ones

hehe )
stay tuned then! ^____^
(dunno about unpolished, bugs tend to just distract from the idea; but def not planning to start smoothing too many corners over for the sake of mass appeal, yeah)
