ART (the ue4 plugin for maya) and custom characters Pose Question

I got ART, the Animation and Rigging Toolkit and became super excited after watching most of the videos about it. The ability to add bones like ponytails and rabbit ears is awesome! As an anthro character designer it’s a dream come true for the extra parts. I was texturing my heroine to import her into UE4 with it. I am using Manuel Bastoni (links in my sig) and it has a T pose which in theory would make it super easy to import in but it doesnt have a pose similar enough to the mannequin to pass as it. How easy is it to rig a character? I’m a Maya noob but a Blender Pro. (unless you count humanoid characters but I can prop your world up one side and down the other) Anyway, since I am nearing completion I am wondering how I should pose the character as an obj. Should I T pose it or try and match the UE4 Hero?
