ART content dir

i remove the old 4.2 version of unreal, and all ART work gone.

i a bit hangry, i want to kill someone, can someone give a name? lol.
just kidding of course but why the hell ART use that working directory? i forget in time the last time a app use that location (program files) for save the files.

All of the project files are stored in your projects folder, you can remove versions without doing anything to the projects folder.

not the ART files, they are in MayaArtTools directory under UnrealEngine (known i known :frowning: ).

Just copy the art tools to wherever ( D:\Unreal Engine\MayaTools instead of D:\Unreal Engine\4.2\Engine\Extras\Maya_AnimationRiggingTools\MayaTools) and paste the path in the mayaTools text document found in C:\Users\you\Documents\maya\2014-x64\scripts.

I suppose you’d be looking for me in that case
Not sure what to tell you there, the files have to go someplace and I was told to put them under the extras folder!
My suggestion to everyone is, copy the MayaTools folder to somewhere else, outside of Unreal Engine. Then when updates happen, just grab the new version and overwrite. This will protect all of your work and only update code/icons. This is how we operate here.

yep i think will do that now :stuck_out_tongue:

was my fault not noticing that anyway but … argggg

Sorry!
Have a digital cookie

I think we really need to have some additional information put in the installation instructions for ART. It’s missing the step where you copy the art tools into your project folder.
