Ark Modding Tutorials

didnt think of that

Hey all, I am trying to create a ā€œsimpleā€ NPC character, I tried the long route at first to use all blueprints human but after many cooks and fails I decided a new approach. So now Iā€™m trying to simply change the skeleton, skeletal mesh and Animation BPā€™s of an already existing Dino. In this case Iā€™m trying to use the Bigfoot character. So basically what I did was I took all the BPā€™s needed to spawn Bigfoot and once it was a success I tried to just change the skeletal mesh and Animation BPā€™s to human and what happens when I play it in editor is they spawn in, they have the human mesh and they move around but their body parts donā€™t move. Iā€™ve tried changing the animation BPā€™s around but still no progress. If anyone has any knowledge on this, or feels like tinkering with it and if you find anything I would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks in advance,

Question, Think you can make a Tutorial on how to make Vehicles? Land/Flying base?

Hey , have you checked that the skeleton for your mesh and the skeleton for the Bigfoot are the same. I know that, in the standard unreal editor, you have to make sure that your skeleton is the same, or, else you have to either: 1. create all new animations and anim blueprints, or 2. retarget all of the existing animations to your new skeleton. iā€™m kind of new to this myself, but as far as I can tell, this sounds like a skeleton/animation problem, not anything to do with the anim blueprint itself.
Hope this helps, and happy modding.

Would like a tutorial on properly setting up the placement of structures settings. Having issues with items not lining up quite right and being offset from corners or from the foundation.

. would you do a slow and steady tutorial tutorial and using the blueprint programming interface? I find there are a lack of tutorials for it.
Thank you

Can someone point me to a decent tutorial/documentation on the scripting language please?

Are there any tutorials on how to add various sized to a structure? An example would be the war mapā€¦ what i want to do is make it so you can walk up, press E and have 1-5 preset sizes to choose from to make the map larger or smaller 1 being smallest and 5 being largest size). Im very very new to this. I can edit the size of the map and create a new modded version of it with the larger size but im not sure what to do from there to get the new map to have the varying sizes in the E menuā€¦ Thanks for any help.

Any chance we could see a tutorial on getting the starting basics of an actual Ark sized map setup? Such as getting your terrain grid so you have a landscape the same size as The Island. Iā€™ve seen youtuber Brick Whutā€™s basic terrain setup video and itā€™s good but curious if we could see something a little more in depth/true to what an Ark dev/map maker like Evilmrfrank would use as a starting point.

Thanks!!

Question, my mod shows up in the engram list and able to be created/used in the devkit, but when I add it to my sp game the engram doesnā€™t show up, but I can do the cheat giveitem command and it shows in my inventory, but am unable to place it on the ground. Any clue on what I would need to do to fix this?

just started making updates to my mod, and with the new DevKit update, something must have change because now after cooking and uploading non-of my engrams show in game, but they do show up when testing in the DevKit, anyone know what has changed that would cause this?

also, how do i find the cheat code to spawn my mo items in game?

please and thank you

My issue is the same, no engrams in game, can spawn with code, cannot place in-game, but everything works inside the devkit

just wondering can i get some help with some armor iā€™ve been working on can someone please add me or message me ā€¦ thanks ā€¦

if u join this discord maybe someone in there might be able to help Discord

I wish you would make more ark tutorials :frowning:

@ - I want to thank u for your indepth videosā€¦ as i am completely novice at the ADK your videoā€™s have helped steer me into the right direction and i wanted to thank you personally.

I have searched all over for a video on how to make item skins, to no avail. I was wondering if you could make a video explaining exactly how i go about doing this. Iā€™ve read stuff about meshes and i just donā€™t understand it at all. Do i pull meshes offline from some other website or are the meshes already in game just not being used? Once i have a mesh how do i upload it to ADK to actually use it ā€¦ iā€™m just to ignorant to understand it all. Any help would be greatly appreciated please. Thank you in advance.

could someone please direct me to a video on how to make a spawn point work, i watched wookies video but its not working

Hey ,
First off, I follow your channel and tutorial series and thank you for all the work you do, especially for assisting those of us new to the Ark Modding/Development community. Truly, hats off. The reason for this message being that I am looking to assemble a team of developers who would be interested in working on a mod project for the Ark. The focus of the project being:
1.) Growing our knowledge and scope of the Unreal Engine & Features by use of the Ark Assets & Development kit.
2.) Expand upon a game that has a rich player base with unique and interesting ideas.
3.) Bring together young and growing talent to make a fun experience for existing Ark player base.
4.) To make a kick *** mod the players will love.

Now as far as details for the mod go I want to collectively have a small group of people to brainstorm with and share views to respectively find out which direction we want to take. However I do have ideas for a solid foundation of the mod which is rather a expansion to existing ark components we will not rely on heavy new additions to the game but rather existing components with moderate addition of new geometry, levels, experiences and tweaks.

Once again just reaching out to you to see if you would love to join in on beautiful work for a great game and meet other diverse, like and unlike minded developers.

Please reach me back via email ā€œtaylorwayne15@icloud.comā€ or here, but much preferably via email (because I check it more often and this is my first time using private message via YT).

Very Respectfully, Taylor.

Can you tell me how to adjust the perspectiveļ¼Ÿ I zoom in on the dinosaurs, but I do not know how to adjust the ride
