area from city not so detailed as if i am working on single objects in this area

hey  so i am new to realty capture and the hole photogrammetry stuff.
i got already very good results with single objects mainly churches, castles and so on.
but if i cover a bigger area with many houses and churches i struggle to get good detail for the model. if i am working only on one singel object from that area it looks super detailed but the hole area not so.
can anybody tell me what i have to do to get very good detailed models from bigger areas?
thank you, best regards, sebastian

Hello,

Could you please send us a screenshot of some of the examples of the detail, and also of the reconstruction settings you were using?

Did you use Normal or High Detail reconstruction? Are you using drone imagery? Is your mesh lacking polygons or is it a texture that doesnโ€™t look the best?

hey

so my workflow is like alignment, normal detail and then i reduce the mesh to 1 000 000
and then texture it. but i also tried like texture on highest mesh count and then unwrap and reproject. i think its a texture problem, but as i said i am very new to the hole thematic so i dont know whats going on.
first two pictures are the complete model
third is only the church. but i did a new project with only the church pictures. so its not a part of the hole model!

kind regards sebastian

you can also check out this project - https://360studios.at/3d/krems/
there is a big model from a city
and then there are, from the churches, separate models (new projects whith only the files from each model)

All right, since you are familiar with the simplification and texture projection, here is what I would do.

Create a normal detail model and texture it. This should create a nice-looking model. With the latest version release, it is possible to display models larger than 40M in the 3Ds view so you should be able to check it out before you continue.
Once you have that, simplify that model, but simplify it gradually. A big jump in triangles can disrupt the geometry, so simplify it by 50% (or less) until you reach your triangle count goal.
Now reproject the texture from the first model, onto that model, and the texture should look the same.

hey
so i did that, model has 200 000 000 tris, but still it doesnt look as detailed as if i only make model from for example the church (like make a new project and use only the church pictures)

is there a way to do the model in parts and then combine all parts to one model and then reduce the tris?
