Are unused assets being calculated in memory? If so, which is the best way to delete them?

Hi guys!

I have an archviz scene (walkthrough) that runs smoothly in the Editor but when I package it there is some lagging/chopping that’s very annoying. I’m wondering if that’s because I have a lot of unused assets in my project.
So I just want to know if my unused assets are being calculated in memory? If so, that could be the issue with the lagging scene.

Which is the best way to delete them?

Assets are only ever loaded if they are referenced by something else that is loaded (another asset, a level). If you have many assets open in multiple windows/tabs it does have a hit on performance in my experience, even if those windows/tabs aren’t in foreground.
