Are there any 5.7 tutorials for actual beginners?

Every tutorial I see is either to fast paced, uses the wrong versions, or doesn’t explain the basics like importing assets and understanding the fundamentals with working with UE5. I tried the Stack O Bot tutorial (doesnt show you how to get access to the assets he uses within the first 3 minutes and the pacing is insane), Youtubes Unreal Sensei (much older version so nothing seems to add up when trying to follow along), Bad Decisions Studio Youtube tutorial (Older version so some things dont add up and its hard to replicate and focuses on animation not blueprints or programming) just to name a few. Ive been at this for 4 hours every day for the past 3 days the most learning Ive been able to do is by pulling apart the UE5 5.7 in app tutorial that walks you through what UE5 has to offer. Please I need help and I have no idea what or where to even properly start.

Hey @FluffyWaterM! Welcome to the forums!

I remember when I was first starting out and had a really similar issue. I could figure out how to import stuff but… WHERE WAS IT?? So it turns out on whatever platform you’re on, that’s governed by people who didn’t make the content, and the content is usually spread out over youtube, here, and other more school–y websites so they can’t make a one-size-fits-all approach.

For Stack O Bot, go to this website and scroll to the bottom, then click the fab link like in this picture:

https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/news/updated-stack-o-bot-for-unreal-engine-5-6-available-now

Then add it to your library, then view in launcher:

Once that pulls up, you should be able to use “Create Project” to create a Stack O Bot 2.0 project and then follow videos from there!

Hope that helps!

I think I’ve watched thousands of hours of learning content, the only valid teacher I would recommend is Stephen Ulibarri. I haven’t watched this course in particular but I’m pretty sure it will cover all the basic stuff you might need.

Free resources are often bad, especially on Youtube, many “Epic certified instructors” don’t have an idea about what they are teaching…
You might have to go through the road we’ve all traveled: Trial and errors!

But good luck and welcome aboard!
