ArchViz - Modern Apartments Highlight Reel

Hi all! Would dig your thoughts on this highlight reel of some recent work I’ve made. Any tips would be much appreciated

Cheers!

hi I like the camera work and materials. I am not really in position to give you any advice but I think there corners of the was have a bit too harsh AO.Also somethings look a bit flat you can use the ao slot in the material to kind of fake a bit of depth in … I do that now and then (am not that good so dont take my word for it.) but I think a bit more experimentation and trial and you will be super awesome!.. otherwise I like the feeling you brought to the environment with sound and camera…( I like to have drama so I like to have spaces were there are more shadows in it to have a balance of light and dark. but that’s just my personal taste) . Looks good you are on the right path. hope some veteran’s here will give you more useful tips.

Nice work. Work with your AO a bit too keep shadows from condensing so much in the corners. That might mean a mixture of increasing the radius and decreasing intensity. Also, maybe play with some other sorts of camera angles. What if you had more natural camera movements - as if it was actually eye-level of someone walking through the space? What would they look at? Some shallow DOF extreme close-ups are nice, but use those sparingly. Shallow DOF doesn’t help show off wide spaces.

I would also turn off the lens flare, since it’s distracting and it’s a default setting in UE4 which people will recognize–it’s like using the Adobe lens flares
