architecture and town-planning

Dear architects and town planners,
we are doing a small survey, please, tells us what you use or would like to use the RealityCapture software for.
Thank you.

hi,
not an architekt here, but i re-build interesting places for VR (Virtual Reality),
so you can visit allmost real places you never been before. I build it for the HTC Vive
and maybe for the Rift when room scale is suported.

If interested, its like this:

Nedo

I’m working on a couple of masterplans with it.

has been really useful, clients have been impressed.

but i can’t really show anything yet.

I’ve been doing half of a small city in it. which is great, but of course every wants to see more

but i guess that’s what the cli version is for…

As an architect myself, I can imagine using the RealityCapture software for analyses, modeling for visualization purposes, documentation, presentation, part of BIM, etc.

I have been looking for a good one stop piece of software to combine the merits of laser scanning and photogrammetry, to produce scaled orthographic images of historical buildings for architects. CR looks like the most promising software by a long way for this purpose. Keep up the brilliant work.

Richard.

You are right, it is widely used in cultural heritage projects.

I’m not, although I do look at potential applications to support researchers at our uni. I sometimes feel that Australia is a bit of a backwater in this sort of area, particularly in cultural heritage but we do have one company doing some great work… http://aerometrex.com.au/ (3D building data is used for Google Earth).

Hello Ben,

I’m currently using it for cultural heritage in my city, and in the big picture trying to capture the historic center of my city and put it in VR.

Which city? Could we see some of your results either here on in our Facebook group? https://www.facebook.com/groups/CapturingRealityArena/
