Every year, ArchiCAD releases a new version and the datasmith plugin takes an arbitrary time to be developed. Either it takes a week or two, or several months. This creates a problem for our office because we only feel safe in moving towards the new versions once this plugin is published. However, as you can imagine, the new versions always introduce certain improvements that we want to take advantage of once they’re released.
I don’t understand why it takes so much time, given how the 3D engine in Archicad is completely unchanged version to version, but I respect how everyone’s time is precious and how many things the developers have to juggle.
I do politely ask how much time will it take, if we are to expect a plugin in the next days, weeks, or if we can barely expect it, maybe next year or so, so that we can manage our pipelines accordingly. Being in this vague uncertainty is maddening.
