Arch Viz and R&D - Looking for a VR Apprentice

Agile Lens: Immersive Design is a small VR consultancy based out of NYC. We focus on integrating VR into design workflows and developing custom solutions for very specific problems.

I run this company primarily as a one-man operation, typically only hiring independent contractors when I’m overloaded. Since 2013 I’ve been crafting solutions and experiences for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, Google Daydream, GearVR, and WebVR using Unreal, Unity, Aframe, and 3ds Max Interactive. I build 3D models in Revit, 3ds Max, and Sketchup, and code in C#, Javascript, HTML, XML, and Unreal’s Blueprint system. I regularly attend conferences and panels where I speak on the role of VR in the world of design; where it is, where it’s going, and where I’d like to see it. I strongly believe in the power of this medium to change the world for the better and love working with those who share that passion.

I am in need of an apprentice; someone already skilled in crafting VR experiences looking to learn a lot more by working directly with me on a series of real-world projects and proprietary R&D work. After a trial period this will evolve into a paid position.

Maybe you’re a generalist like me or maybe you’re hyper-focused on lighting or draw call optimization-- as long as you love VR as much as I do, we’re likely to get along.

Send me an email with samples of your work, and mostly importantly let me know why you’re so excited about VR and what you hope to accomplish.

This position can be performed remotely or in person.
