Hello guys, we are super excited to share a first view at the game we have been working on recently. This is an early first look so please excuse some non-polished content.
This game is supposed to be a four seat multiplayer game, local split-screen, online and any combination thereof.
We are mainly using marketplace assets at this point, since we two programmers, we are still unsure whether we should look for an artist that will replace all of these by custom ones, or if those assets will be fine for release.
If the project resonates with you please feel free to get in touch, we are looking for people to join us!
Planned game features include:
Two engaging game mode where players either race against each other or compete to hatch eggs while stealing them from one another.
A variety of power-ups, including turbo boosts, rockets and homing missiles, which can be used to slow down opponents or protect your eggs.
A range of customizable aircrafts, allowing players to personalize their gameplay experience.
Colorful and bright 3D graphics and a range of detailed maps and environments, that fit the arcade gameplay we aim for combined with the stunning UE5 rendering capabilities.
An online multiplayer mode that allows players to compete against each other, create matches, and join existing ones.
An in-game store with a variety of items, including skins, decals, and cosmetics, allowing players to customize their gameplay experience further.
Regular content updates, including new maps, aircrafts, and game modes, ensuring the game remains fresh and exciting for players.
Compatibility with multiple platforms, including Steam, Epic Store, Microsoft Store, Nintendo Switch, Playstation, and Xbox, allowing players to enjoy the game on their preferred platform.
Congratulations on the progress of Couch Planes! What a fun, family-friendly, and inspired game! It’s great that you’re offering a variety of gameplay options to accommodate different player preferences!
I really enjoyed your intro scene and the fitting whimsical music! Can a player perform aerial tricks? Are the races designed as charted courses? How does the player know the direction of the race? Is there a limit on the amount of power-ups a player can collect?
So far we dont have plans for aerial tricks, but lets see what happens during production. Our plan is to release a small, feature complete game into EA asap and then gather feedback and see what else we can incorporate.
Yes our plan is to have the races in charted courses, but we have not fleshed-out the details of the racing mode yet. We have started our works on the other mode first, so we are not sure for example what graphical assets to use to show the player the direction in racing mode.
The power-ups are very arcady, collecting one power-up will replace the previous one, if any.
Hope you’re doing well and having a marvelous week so far!
First, I have to say that the environment in this game is absolutely gorgeous. It feels very dreamy and bright and tranquil. Secondly, the customization and combat look super fun and enjoyable! It’s incredibly clear that a lot of work has gone into making every detail of this game and it’s resulted in a truly charming project
Thanks a lot for your kind feedback! We really just faked the racing mode for the trailer and the Hatch Race mode is the only one availableto play right now. So I can say with confidence that that one is my favorite for the time being
