I purchased this file from another digital store (I’m not sure if I can name other stores here without violating any FAB policies, so I’ll refrain from doing so) and after testing it, I was quite dissatisfied. This asset is sold as a “plug and play” system. But it isn’t. If you want to take advantage of it, you need to delve into its programming and try to fix it. The locomotion system breaks quite easily once you run a few tests with it.
It has no documentation, and I’m not sure if you can use the horses created in the editor and define them as independent actors to use them within a project without having to develop it.
I don’t recommend purchasing this asset unless the author provides a playable demo of the product. If you’re happy with it after testing, go ahead. There are better options on the market that work really well for a fraction of the price. They won’t have the same quality in terms of models, but it’s something you can improve on your own.
This product is for you if you want to make a quick render with a horse, or do some quick testing, if you want something to use professionally or to integrate into your advanced project, I do not recommend it.
You can search the internet for a video called: “Horse Configurator PLUG AND PLAY Test and User Experience - Unreal 5.6” and draw your own conclusions.
Most of the bugs you mentioned were caused by the automatic conversion to Unreal Engine 5.6, which broke several parts of the project.
We’ve already fixed these issues and released aDemo Version, which we also sent to you so you can test it personally.
Now it’s open for everyone — anyone can download and try it before deciding to buy.
Amazing work! We bought it for Company! The customization options are endless, and the horses look incredibly realistic.
TO BE HONEST The first version had a few bugs and some issues with the locomotion system, but after requesting fixes, most of them were solved. The author keeps improving the project with updates, gradually fixing bugs and adding new features.
The price is higher than the average on FAB, but it’s absolutely worth it. you get all necessary animations, a full locomotion system, plenty of saddles, an endless material customization system, and sound effects for every situation. Everything runs smoothly in Unreal, and you can really see the passion and effort behind this asset. Highly recommended!
