Applying translucent material distorts mesh.

When I apply the translucent material to the scope element my mesh is distorting and compressing in what looks like a different LOD (top image). However when I apply a generic material to the lens the mesh remains normal (bottom image).

Any idea what is causing this and how can I retain the proper mesh with a translucent material.

I think this is new to Unreal 5.5 as I did not have this issue in prior versions with the same mesh.

Solved it! Somehow nanite got turned on, I think when I was bringing in Fab assets, and when I unchecked it in the Static Mesh editor nothing happened so I moved on. However I had to save the asset for the change to go through, d’oh!
