Applying Material to BSP Surface not working in "Geometry Edit Mode"

If you’re in “Geometry Edit Mode”, and you attempt to apply a material to a BSP surface using “Shift click” on the surface, it will not work. You have to exit Geometry Edit Mode first before applying a material. I find this behavior annoying. Can you make it possible to apply a material to a surface from within “Geometry Edit Mode”?

Geometry edit mode is strictly to modify the geometry in your levels in order to get custom shapes and edit your BSP’s. Not allowing you to place materials on your geometry in this mode is a safeguard so you don’t accidentally place materials on incorrect faces. This also makes sure your materials are not stretched and skewed after editing the geometry. I suggest editing your geometry how you would like it to be first, and then going back and adding your materials scaling, tiling, and rotating how you see fit. Hope this helps!
