Apply Translucent Surface Material to Static Mesh

I’ve created a surface material using translucent blend mode, which renders in the preview window fine and applies to pre-built meshes in UE (cube, sphere, etc.) but won’t apply to imported FBX static mesh files. Any ideas why?

Sounds like the UVs aren’t right. Double click the mesh in the content browser:

I don’t think it’s that. UV’s are showing in channel 2 and opaque surface material applies ok on these. Any other thoughts?

For Unreal, the UVs need to be in channel 0.
