Apply the right textures for a material for a generator?

Hello! I need help applying the correct textures to my material for my generator.

I have the generator, the buttons, and the cap for the generator, the cap texture is all set, but the generator and button textures I’m having the most issue.

Please help

Hi Adam,

I’d say, open up your ‘Buttons’ mesh and look at the UVs (You might have 2 UV channels, that’s ok.) Then you can try and match the shapes/locations of the shapes to the textures to figure out what goes with what.

Random Protip: You can right-click that pulsing green icon in the upper right and ‘dismiss’ it.

Hello! I’m sorry, but I just tried to do what you suggested and it still didn’t work. The link to the generator is: Generator - Download Free 3D model by Shedmon [9df7682] - Sketchfab

This is the guys model, and how it should look, I just don’t know how to properly apply it on to the right material.

Ah I see.

You’ll want to enable ‘Combine Static Meshes’ when you import the generator.

That mesh will have multiple material channels for you to slot the materials in to. (Click ‘Highlight’ or ‘Isolate’ next to the material to see which is which.

Hey Again, I re-imported the generator and heres the results:

Those textures will be used in a Material, and the Material will be assigned to the mesh.

In a previous video I saw you had a Material set up, It looks like the materials for your mesh already exist but are white.

So open up ‘GeneratorMat’ and use that “Albedo” texture as Base Color. Compile the material and you should see the mesh update.

It’s an older tutorial, but if you watch this series you’ll level up.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! THIS FIXED MY PROBLEM!!
