Apply OpenSubdiv to Animated Character

Hi,

We are working on a small animation project in Maya. Our workflow is to animate the low poly characters (for convenience) and smooth them at render time using non-destructive subdivide. We’d like to render the final animation in Unreal Engine 5, but we couldn’t find a way of applying the OpenSubdiv on a skeletal mesh (after the skin modifier). Is it even possible? I know there’s OpenSubdiv for static meshes, but it doesn’t work with skeletal meshes. It’s impossible to do serious animation projects in Unreal without such a feature, so I’m assuming we’re missing something.
