Apply Buffs when Weapon used

Hello, I’d like to apply a post processing effect to my character when I use a weapon, but when I point the weapon blueprint to any buffs, none seem to activate. For example, when I right click with my weapon I chose for it to give the shadowsteak buff, (placeholder until I make my own), but no icons appear and my gamma or brightness do not change. I have created a copy of the PrimalItem_WeaponSpyglass and WeapSpyglass, and pointed the files to each other. But again, when I spawn it in and use it, nothing happens.

Does anyone know how to apply a buff on the Alt Fire of a weapon? It seems to only work for “consumables” I believe.
