After alignment run four a couple of hours I was not able to save the project. RC would give the error that it has run out of memory during saving.
Situation:
Open project with some components
Add additional Photo’s
3.Save Project
Start Allignment
Allignment finisht
Save Project (FAILED because Application has run out of Memory)
Afther allignment the ram usage was still 111gb.
There was also enoug space on the SSD HD (more than 3,5TB).
Project contains 9.6K Photos

Did you scroll through them a lot before the last saving?

Yes absolutely, here are some project details.
In different projects I aligned different datasets
These projects, I exported the component after alignment
In the main project I impotent another dataset and run the alignment. After this alignment I imported the other components and run alignment again.
The result was good and I saved the project. In total the main project contained ca 6800 photo’s.
After this I added another 3500 images, saved project and run the alignment again.
After alignment the results looked good and I wanted to save the project.
I did nog scroll fast between the images or what so ever. I just checked the result after alignment. Every time when I save the project I saved it as a new file (save as).

ah, so it is a rather large number. What about resolution?
Did you try it again? It might just have been a hickup…
If not, maybe you can tra adding the final 3.5k in smaller batches?
How much memory is available in total?

About 4k images are 45mpx, the other images are 20mpx
I opened a backup project file and restarted without the other 3500 images and everyting went fine. I’ll try to repoduce the problem after the project deadline.
Total available memory minimum om 3TB on the disks and 128GB of ram. But when I tried to save the project almost all ram was in usage.
I think 512gb ram would be the way to go to be on the safer side here.
