As above does the app collects data…? I mean if I am building a game using unreal engine. I am not myself collecting any data, but does by default unreal build app collects user data??? What I my issue is that I have build a game and testing it on my phone but it says while opening that this app requires to files on my device … not that is a issue… but I myself don’t wanna do this? If I can stop this I would… Please anybody help
As far as I know, they are not collecting anything from the users on a packaged project. I however can’t point to anything that would contradict my claim. I tried to find a resource but can’t.
I recently did some work for an android game, so could you elaborate on how you installed the game? Is it installed through the .APK, the .AAB, from USB to the phone via Unreal Engine, or from the Google Play Store?
You can go through all of the plugins that you are using, perhaps there is something that collects data from there, but I would doubt that the default Unreal Engine plugins would collect data from a packaged project.
No I figure this was just to access the file to save and load game… by the way this was downloaded directly from my pc to mobile phone and it is a developer version not the final shipping version. And plus my understanding above was wrong.
Hey @AntiGravity, the Usage Data is only for engine use. Umar was wondering if Epic was collecting data from actual packaged / built games, which as far as I know; they are not.
@AntiGravity, I see… I’ll look into it further! Thank you for being persistent and not accepting my ignorance!
