Dear Epic,
Portion of Editor?
The Destructible Editor
Issue:
I cannot select chunks in the destructible viewport.
Reason:
For very large apex destructible assets, in my case a mountain, the ray trace to click on apex chunks in the UE4 Destructible editor is not long enough!
Solution:
Please extend the range of the trace in the UE4 Destructible viewport scene so that we can click on the individual chunks of a very large apex asset without having to zoom in super close.
Asset For Reference
Feel free to download and test with this asset, it is a very large rock, and if I position camera at a comfortable distance I can’t click on chunks, I have to zoom in very close.

-
Please see attached .apb file and import into UE4 4.15 and open the destructible editor.
-
Set the chunk depth to 1 and move the chunks apart, as if preparing to select them
-
Now zoom out pretty far, and try to click on the chunks.
-
You wont be able to click on the chunks, because the ray trace into the scene doesnt go far enough
-
Now move very close to one of the chunks and try and click on it (you will see blue box when it works)
Picture for Reference
For reference of what I mean by zooming out to comfortable distance, see pic that uses the asset I am providing to you (comes from Vehicle template desert race demo)
Thanks!
