Apex cloth works like a dream, but it gets its origin wrong when on a moving object

here’s a video of the issue

The cloth starts to rise up on the z axis when I’m standing on a fast falling object. I think the problem MIGHT be that I am standing on a static object that is trying to move itself to an invisible dynamic object. I probably can’t change that because Unreal’s physics required me to make this static object compromise in the first place (to block player movement). Does anyone have any good ideas to get around this?
