I’ve looked through some chaos destruction tutorials on youtube but they were all kinda the same and had the same problems, e.g. i could make a mesh destructible, but for it to get destroyed I have to hit it with a wrecking ball sized object and it violently explodes on impact.

Is there a tutorial somewhere that teaches me what I need to be able to do that?

That guide is about making chaos destruction with perfect collision, it’s a nice find and i’ll definitely want that at some point, but it’s aimed at people who already know how to do what I’m trying to learn.
Managed to figure out how to make the bullets not have to be big by using fields using this video https://youtu.be/lN-oZmwVQ58
Still haven’t quite figured out how to limit the destruction though
