That looks like he’s using purely physics constraints and the like.
From what I can tell, he’s controlling two of the circles (can’t tell which…) and the other circles are attached to that circle. The attached circles are getting pulled along at difference speeds due to their mass- that’s what gives it the appealing look.
If you want to recreate it, I’d highly recommend looking into some Unreal physics tutorials.
Thanks! I ended up texting the artist and he said he uses touch designer to detect motion and then feed them into UE with OSC.
