Anyone here experimenting with TikTok for promoting Unreal Engine projects?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been noticing more game dev content popping up on TikTok lately, especially short clips showing gameplay loops, devlogs, or quick behind-the-scenes moments. It got me thinking — is anyone here actually using TikTok to showcase their Unreal Engine projects or build an audience?

I’m curious how well it works compared to more “traditional” platforms like YouTube or even Twitter/X. Do short-form videos actually translate into meaningful engagement (like wishlists, followers, or community interest), or is it mostly just quick views without much long-term impact?

Also, what kind of content seems to perform best in your experience — polished cinematic shots, raw dev progress, tutorials, or something more casual?

Just wanted to bump this a bit since I’m still really curious about it.

I’ve started testing a few short clips myself (basic gameplay loops and small dev updates), and I can see how TikTok can bring quick visibility — but I’m still not sure how well that turns into actual engagement like wishlists or a real community.

Also came across some discussions around modded versions like TikTok 18 while researching content strategies — mainly people saying it gives more flexibility in how they browse or test content trends. I even saw a few mentions of protik18 in that context. Not sure how reliable that route is though, so I’m sticking with the official app for now.

Would love to hear if anyone here has real results — even small ones — from using TikTok for Unreal projects. What type of clips actually worked for you?
