Using Windows 8.1 laptop with Intel 3000 graphics. 8GB Ram.
Unity works fine on this laptop but UE4 editor runs very slow and causes my whole computer to slow down.
Any reason for this? And any way to speed it up? Like some settings?
Is it using too much RAM? It looks like it’s only using 3GB of my 8GB.
Quick settings > Engine scalability settings > turn down; Effects and Post process to low, AA will always help too
These two will get rid of the real-time reflections and the HDR type lighting, along with some other things.

Ah excellent!!! That’s much better!
I would suggest to Epic that they have the lower settings on by default.
Thanks - any extra tips on making this thing lighter appreciated;

For me, resolution, shadows, and effects seem to be the main causes of low framerates in my experience. Everything else on high is fine
