Any clean way of rendering 3d GUI elements?

Hello!

I’m wondering if there is a clean way of rendering 3d GUI elements (see examples below) other than creating a fully enclosed room to exclude outside light with an internal lighting setup in a location player can’t occasionally see it.

I’ve found a few tutorials. But all of them recommend creating a fully enclosed room in the same main level in a location somewhere player cannot see it and render to texture there. For example, here
