Indeed, cash. And it takes surprisingly little of it. Saw once a documentary of it.
Sometimes the deal is just hardware. The guy gets a laptop āfor freeā (that he could not afford otherwise) and all he needs to do is fulfill a certain spam quota.
For some, it is the only way to "own " a computer at allā¦

Why would anyone pay someone for writing spam on the ue4 andwerhub? The only one who would gain advantage from this would be a competitor, and I really donāt think Unity is paying people for spamming the ue4 answerhub
People donāt spam, they use bots, and pros use VPNās and proxies.

Could you just block all of the universities or something of that equivlent?
Because from what I see in those pictures⦠It all comes from students being jerks and wasting their education at the universities.

even easier way, make a limitation for a question publication per hour.

there are no any reason for being able to publish more than two question per hour. And creating new account every time is time consuming.

They just dont care. There are sometimes spam accounts with only 1-2 questions. they create new accounts themselves. Currently the only problem is AnswerHub itself lets posts of newcomers go through without moderation sometimes for some reason. Once thatās fixed you shouldnt see any such notifications.
Im sorry guys, but im disabling answerhub email notifications.
I got something better to do than:
Hi everyone,
Let me assure you that Epic really hates this spam as much as all of you do (or more!), and weāve been fighting it ever since it first reared its ugly head. We recently added some additional spam controls to the Answerhub, however by default it was being too aggressive and blocking anything with a non-latin character and we had to tone it back. I just tweaked a few more settings to try to strike a balance. I have also increased the wait time between submitting posts. Weāll continue to monitor this and do whatever is necessary to block the spam. If we determine that it requires first-post moderation, we will certainly have that discussion with the Answerhub developers to review our options.
Thanks
