I achieved my “AnswerHub Sage” forum badge for answering lots of questions this week. This is how the answering process typically goes:
- Read & Answer question
- Question is accepted
- Author posts a comment about accepting the answer. Unbeknownst to the author, this clears the question acceptance.
- I make a comment asking the author to re-accept the answer.
- A little more than half the time the author comes back and re-accepts the answer. The rest of the time they don’t.
It takes quite a bit of effort to keep an accepted answer accepted. Whether this is a chosen configuration setting or not, this really decreases the value of AnswerHub, because nearly half of the already accepted solutions are not marked.
Ouch. Just ouch.
(And sorry about the “product version” – there’s no “AnswerHub” or “Meta” option).
