Hey,
I hope it´s the right spot for newbie questions. I want to start to learn Unreal Engine like so many others. I am not exactly new in the whole Field. Got a Background in C++ Programming and Visual Programming. A little experience in creating human computer interfaces and working with 3D Assets as well. But no Game Development or 3D Modeling in any Engine. Since Unreal Engine now seems to manage to caputure everything under one belt it seems to make sense to fokus on one tool where you can do all sorts of stuff. It´s been a few years and all in all I think I have to relearn a good chunk of everything, even the c++ stuff. Of course I know the basics, but it won´t hurt to get in shape.
I have a PC from a few years back an i7 10700, 32GB RAM, RTX 3070…Is this enough for a start? Can I play with all the new technologies, like lumen, nanite, metahumans? I am a little worried about the low GPU Ram. Two options. Keep the system and breath steady or because I also game, go crazy and go for something new between 4070 - 4090 and new CPU?
Is there a way to make fast prototyping on the Ipad? lets say I build some interface in the engine, can I preview it somehow on the Ipad?
Can I use my Ipad to work in the Engine?
I guess Tutorials can be found in the Tutorial Thread? Would you recommend to just make a little game to get into the whole thing or just go Tutorial by Tutorial. It´s pretty hard to navigate tutorial jungle because this Engine can do so much and even if you know what you want to do you don´t exactly know what knowledge you need to get there.
Thanx
