Animations get new frames added on import

hello all, this is my first post here! woohooo!
But yeah as the title says when I import my character animations some of them such as attack animations or jump animations get frames added on to the end.
I don’t mean like a couple of frames, I mean like 20-50+ blank frames added on to the end of my animation.
In 3DS max I export as an fbx and only bake the section I want exporting… in fact I’m using the same animations I used with udk.

any reason why this could be happening?

I’ve sorted it. It was a tick box on import. by default it was set to exported time when I should have ticked animated time.
