Animations breaking when I import them to level sequencer

I have a library of animations I retargeted from the animation sample project for my character model. The skeleton was made in Blender, and uses UE5’s modular rig system. The animations retargeted fine, and look good if I open them. However, if I create a level sequencer and attempt to import the animations onto the rig there, all hell breaks loos. The character is horribly distorted, the joints break, parts of the model move independently of the rest, it’s a whole mess. I’ve looked through a number of guides but I can’t find any sort of switch I missed.

I’m new to the whole animation pipeline, so there’s a good chace I missed something along the way that is only making itself apparent now, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what. Any insight into what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
