I’ve been trying to get into the animation portion of UE5 but I’m struggling with editing animations.
Poking around I’ve figured out that I can drop a CtrlRig into the level, and animate it within the Sequencer. I don’t quite understand it, but I know it creates a ‘Level Sequence’. I can then right-click the CtrlRig in the Sequencer window and ‘Bake Animation Sequence’.
What I don’t like about this is that if I just aim to animate something, but later down the road I want to edit that animation (including the ability to see the original keyframes), the only way I know how to do it is to drop the CtrlRig back into the level, find the correct Level Sequence in the Content Browser, right-click>Edit. Then I have to re-link the Level Sequence to the CtrlRig.
All of this doesn’t seem efficient and I need to know if there is an alternate approach. Are you supposed to create a level independently just so you can drag in objects to animate for the other levels? What’s the workflow here or what am I missing?
