i figured out, as soon you set play rate to an Animation Rate on -1, the Animation doesn’t play anymore on “Play Animation” and it also blocked my other animations (when i have this correct in mind).
I’d honestly suggest using an AnimBP to achieve what you want. Instead of using negative play rate in the anim sequence itself, set a negative play rate on the “Play” node in the animgraph.
thanks for your answer. No worries, i just tried to use the -1 animation as a placeholder and i hoped it played backward. It was for an “complex” door animation. i just did the rest in maya all good.
specialliy that -1 blocked my other animations in the normal blueprint was confusing. As soon the -1 Animation was inside, the other animation did not play either.
but yeah i keep it in mind. negative playrate is tricky
