Animation Root Motion is acting strangely.

When the AI reaches the SmartLink, I want to play an animated montage to move it up. However, when I enable Root Motion, it behaves strangely, as shown in the video. How can I fix this?

That can happen when the root bone isn’t locked to always be aligned to the ground. However, enabling the Force Root Lock setting wouldn’t fix the issue in your case, which you might have already done and this is the result of that, because that kinda seems like a Mixamo animation. I think I remember that specific climbing animation had issues, where locking the root would cause the hips to be disoriented. And as you can already see, that behavior persists even after retargeting the animation.
