I am trying to get behind the concept of how I can achieve that my character, that is animated and standing in an idle pose has some kind of override of certain areas of the rig while an animation is being played. For example when something in the field of view is selected. I would like to have the eyes focus that and maintain the general posture but have the head and eyes move towards that.
Or another case would be, when something is held, that the fingers wrap around an object and override that part of the idle animation.
What would be a general approach to solve that problem ?
I would greatly appreciate some sources or links to research more on that matter.
