I’m coming back to UE5.6 and running into an issue with root motion and Motion Matching.
I’ve enabled root motion on the original dodge animation. I’ve set up an AI_Input action for Dodge bound to the space bar (Jump has been moved to F). In my Character Blueprint, I’m triggering the left dodge using the setup shown below.
The root now moves correctly, but the actual animation doesn’t seem to fully play in-game — it looks correct in the previewer, but in gameplay it seems to play the root motion but not the animation.
I’m currently using Motion Matching, so I’m wondering if that might be interfering with the montage playback.
Has anyone run into this before, or can point out what I might be missing in my setup?
