Hi there, I’m new to animation in Unreal Engine and I’d like to ask you a question for an upcoming project I’m involved in.
Essentially I got an npc and I have to create a few animations in Maya (e.g. idle, rotation, walk, etc…). I’m using a mocap library for the animations and I clean them up in Maya.
This is my question: let’s say my character is in idle and I want to make him turn right by using a baked animation in Maya. I then blend the idle animation with the rotation animation. Are there any ways to alsop update the forward vector in Unreal, so that once turned, the capsule is being update and oriented at the new direction?
If I simply rotate him in Maya without any interventions in Unreal, of course my forward vector keeps pointing to the initial direction.
Also, if you have other workflows to suggest I’d appreciate that!
Hope I explain well! Thanks a lot!
