Animation has movement built in. How can I Disable that OR Change State Machine to compensate?

HI

The animation already move forward, when I put in to character, he moves forward while moving forward. The one built in, loops, he the character runs forward, get to the end of the Animation loop, and restarts.

So he runs for away from camera, then when the loop finishes, he teleports back towards the camera and goes forward again.

Any help would be great.

Enable root motion on the animation. I believe simply checking the enable root motion checkbox on the animation should keep him in place without having to create an AnimMontage. I recognize this animation from the Mixamo site…there is an ‘in place’ checkbox on their site that offers in place animations. might help you in the future. :slight_smile:

If this is the dragon from Mixamo, in the animation screen, there is a checkbox you can tick to have it animate in place, then you won’t have to mess with the root bone. I ran into the same issue :slight_smile:
