Hi. I am trying to make set of 2 animations: my character makes the motions of taking off his hat, and the hat follows the hand and comes off his head. In the sequencer I have my character and my hat, and constrain the hat to the head, and later hand. After baking the constraints, it still plays fine in the sequencer. The character animation sequence bakes and plays fine, however the hat animation is missing the root motion. In the past (when not using constraints) I could copy and paste the transform information onto the root but that doesn’t seem to work now. Does anybody have any ideas? Is there any tutorial for using animation constraints, and then baking animation sequences that include root motion for the constrained actor? Thanks-
I figured it out. No transfer to the root is needed. The constraint keys don’t even need to be baked. The character and item animation sequences need to be baked in world space. The the character was in the floor, so the root of the character also needed to be correcter (not the item because the constraint made it follow.)
