Animation blueprint lagging in editor

Hi there,

For some reason my animation blueprint started to lag. When i press play, everything looks smooth the first time. Then after pressing play a few times, it initially hangs for sometimes like 1-2 sec. This behaviour gets worse the more times i play. When i open up my animation blueprint in the editor and try to edit anything, it lags so bad, that sometimes i can’t even drag a pin or click anything. I noticed that in the dropdown at the top, where i can select what to debug/preview, it sometimes end up showing 3-4 instances even in the editor. Is that normal? I use ue4.11.2 and my setup is pretty highend, i7, gtx970, sds discs and 16gb ram.

If it will help, i can post a video showing this, since it’s a bit hard to describe. Just wanted to hear if someone else had noticed something similar, and knew about how to fix it.

The keypoint is, that everything both in the game and in the editor runs super smooth, editing in the animgraph and eventgraph is great, until the first time i’ve play the game, then it goes laggy and i have to restart the editor. This is obviously very anoying.

I found a workaround for this issue which i describe in this video. Hope this is gonna be usefull to others. And if someone know why i sometimes get several (or in the example video get two), instances of my anim bp running, please post here or on the video.

Also if someone know how to test if game is running and we’re not in editor mode, please post how to do it. I would like to know how to do that instead.
