Animating for a cartoon in UE4

Hey everyone, this is my first post on here. I picked up UE4 about 6 months ago, made a few little games for fun, and learned a bunch but animating is where my heart is. I love UE4 and think I can make a decent cartoon with it. Anyways, on to my question:

I’ve been using Blender to model my characters but I’m worried about how I’ll be able to animate them as well as their faces.

I’ve been through a bunch of tutorials and forum posts on animating in UE4 but so far haven’t seen anything that has helped me.

Should I switch programs? An alternative I was looking at was Maya but what benefits will I see switching that will help me in my animations?

Please give me any advice on animating in UE4 or point me to any videos. Maybe you can show me something I have not seen.

Hey, blender is actually able to preform almost all the things maya or max can too. What exactly are you struggling with? Post it here, we have a huge community of blender users that are happy to help you out.

I cant quite point out advantages or disadvantages over maya/blender as I only work with maya tho.

But yeah, before you make and rash decisions like that, make sure you have tried more stuff before you give up, let us know what the issues are.

As far as blender animation to Unreal goes I have only ever experienced one problem and that was a bone scaling issue. Other than that I managed to create characters and animated objects. I too was looking for a facial animation tutorial and couldn’t find anything relevant to Unreal Engine 4. I started my own tutorials on YouTube but I haven’t covered character or facial animations yet.

Like Adeptus said post your problems and people will try and help.
