Animating a character with spring physics in the sequencer?

Hello all,
Hope everyone is well.

I have a character blueprint with spring physics that I want to animate in the sequencer. However, when I try to add the animation to the character blueprint in the sequencer, the animation does not play and the character remains in a T-pose.

I am able to animate the skeletal mesh of the character in the sequencer, but I want to use the character blueprint because it has the spring physics I want to use.

My goal is to have the spring physics of the character work while animating the character in the sequencer.

Is this possible?

Context: The sequence will be exported to video and I need to be able to scrub through the sequencer in order to animate various things in the scene while the spring physics are functional.
