Anim Blending


I am using the Animation Starter Pack and there are only a few animations with pistol. I believe it is the idle, reload and the equip. I am using a pistol animations since it is the only gun we have modeled out. How would you go about merging the top part of the pistol animation with the rifle run, jump, crouch animation? I had never done any animations in unreal so I have little knowledge around this area.

Try to use Animation Montage.

Hi, there are a couple ways you can do it. One is to use the “Layered Blend per Bone” node, that allows you to play different animations on different bones.

In addition you can add a Slot on both branches, for wxample you could use one in the UpperBody to apply the reload animation with an Anim Montage.
