Android 13 Save Game Permissions Not working

Hi everyone. I have been going through posts in the forum for a while now and still cant seem to find a solution. Hopefully someone can clarify.

One of my users on Android sent me a message saying the Save Game doesn’t work on his Android 13 device. Doesn’t ask for permissions and simply doesn’t save anything.

I currently have my app setup through UE 4.27 and it works fine on Android 10, 11, 12 and by following this post everything functions fine:

But now i read that in Android 13 and 14 the Internal storage is used from the Local App folder. The only post i found that clarifies something is here:

It essentially states that For Android 13 and up i need to upgrade to UE 5.3 to use the Local Storage feature?

Right now i cannot afford to upgrade to UE 5.3 as it needs a new OS (I still run on Windows 7) and my hardware doesn’t allow it so i am stuck with what i have.

Is there any way to make this work without going to UE 5.3? Any solution, preferrably that will work for UE 4.27?

I already am using the latest SDK as described here:

I found this post that talks about creating a Manifest Override:

But i don’t understand, will this solve the issue? Aren’t those permissions already there in the manifest? Whi add them again.

Truly, if there is any way around this i would really appreciate the insight.
